Joh - I'm going bushcamping next week for a month and we're mainly using fleece covers with terry flats (in a pad fold) for days and then fitteds and fleece covers at night.
You can do it! fleece and terrys dry really quick and is really easy to wash - either in a strange washing machine (those fabrics seem to be able to withstand anything) or by hand washing!
'Course, I'm also using flushable liners. Easier to get rid of poo.
