Re: My tips
Hi there!
Yes, the leak out the side thing is something K was doing last year (and even with age the size of the night nappy is much the same, perhaps three hemp bigger).
I found two things that solved this (and actually thank you to Ali in the main for the solution - the heavy wetter guru!)
1. Getting rid of a microfleece liner and replacing it with a cotton one (muslin woven material, two to three layers depending on the quality of it) meant that any repelling the liner was doing due to past use of creams was eliminated and having cotton close to the skin overnight hasn't been a problem. I can use creams if needed and I can wash them out of the cotton, but not as easily, the fleece (which I use in the day).
2. The other important thing for us is to use the quick soak layer next in from the liner as Ali was saying, so that it absorbs the rush of wee. I used a small cotton washer to start with, but now use a microfibre cleaning cloth (mine is a Coles 2 pack yellow one - not all the cleaning cloths are a style that works). Microfibre is less bulky!
I've probably repeated what others have said, but at least I am one more Mum who has found an answer for my particular situation - and one that is superior to using disposables.
