wow - this literally has just happened to us. angus had gastro so i did a couple of washes with dettol (similar to the canestan i think??) and all my nappies were sooo soft. like yourself sam, i have been dispairing over my extremely crunchie naps - so much so i was chucking them in the dryer for a little while to take the edge off the crunchiness as i wondered if they were a bit too hard for my bubbas soft bottom. i am sure i have read somewhere that dettol was safe to use on them. i even had to check the label on the container to actually make sure there was no fabric softeners in it??? sorry - have been no help at all, but would be interested to to know if anyone has a clue?
