Babyamore, you could use this on an 8 month old with a cover so long as the nappies big enough, but you may need to boost with a bit of extra fabric for a big wee'er. You could also use it as a pokcet stuffer - is this what you meant? It would be perfect size for most I would think as you could trifold it (prolly not good for trim fit pockets though
) You can always boost, so long as theres enough room in the nappy. HTH
