Dear Tangotanya,
Welcome to the heavy wetting toddler times. Yes one wee can do that:
QUOTE: I just took her nappy off to put her in the bath - pul outer, fleece inner, 9 layers of hemp and its soaked. It was dry 5 mins ago so that's one wee
I would consider 9 layers of hemp the light nappy in our house - only for afternoons!
In the mornings we use 12 layers at the front where DD wets the most and sometimes more. To be honest, we stick to all hemp fitteds and a cover if we want a bit of time but really one big wee can outdo that. The toddler years seem to be the nappy boosting years for some kids. They seem to stay dry for sleeps so wet wet wet when awake and also seem to hold on and wee all at once which challenges any nappy.
This morning my DD was dry from first day nappy when I left the house at 9am. I changed her at 10:00, small wee (ie would soak most non hemp nappies), we were at playgroup having ridden by bike so one nappy only available until I got home (if only she had wee'd before we left!!!) and then we got home, focussed on lunch (oops), and when I changed her for her nap, hey presto, the nappy was overflowing shall we say, ie slight T-shirt dampness. What I need now is to be able to know when she has just done a wee!!! I don't think she is too far off that now, actually. (And squeeze two nappies into the back pack for bike rides to play group!!) (Oh, and remember to check her nappy more often, ooooooooh rats!)
happy nappy boosting,
