We did it! Not a single disposable used
24 hrs of flights each way, in 3 legs each time. 1.5 weeks in self-contained accommodation on the south coast of England (free washing machine use, dryer cost 1GBP for an hour), 1 week in a family member's cottage in North Wales (free washing machine and dryer), 3 nights in a hotel in Glasgow (no washing machine access). Eight itti bitti AIOs, 4 extra sets of boosters, 2 Fuzzi Bunz (with extra stuffing so they could be night nappies), 1 Lotus night nappy, 6 terry flats and a couple of PUL covers.
We nearly ran out a few times, but I'm stubborn. Alastair was REALLY pooey (I think it's partly due to the fact that in the UK they have aspartame in most of their 'kid-themed' juice drinks and it took me a while to actually notice this

) I had to hand-wash in the hotel and discovered stomping on them in the shower is indeed the best way (after scraping and rinsing most of the poo off, of course). Hanging them over the side of the hotel cot near the central heating got them dry just in time.
The dryers seemed really inefficient so we ended up doing most of the drying over airers near the heating. Luckily I chose quick-drying solutions! (That was one of my criteria for what to bring, along with my limited luggage space.)
On the way back home I had put a big wetbag of dirty nappies in my checked luggage and when we got back to Perth Airport they thought for a while our luggage was lost. I was wondering what that suitcase would smell like after a few days, lol, and how exactly I'd make a compensation/insurance claim for it!! But all was well.
