They went pretty well generally. Emma (5) vomited once when we went through some turbulence. On the next leg I gave her some children's Dramamine just in case, but she didn't have any other problems. Both kids slept more than I thought they would. The in-flight entertainment (personal screens on most legs) was invaluable, as was bringing some snacks of my own (more for Emma than Alastair, she's a very fussy eater, but hungry kids generally equal grumpy kids IME).
Getting the bulkhead row was a huge plus since Alastair was under 2 but far too big to have constantly on my lap! The one leg where we didn't get it was a bit of a challenge- I couldn't eat my meal cos I couldn't fit the tray down with him there (in the bulkhead he stood on the other side of the tray and helped me eat). When he slept I actually laid him down on the floor in front of our seats, with blanket and pillow, which was a HUGE relief (NOTE: this may not technically be allowed, but no flight attendants were bothered by it on our flights- he was far too big for the bassinet BTW).
