We had sooo many problems with this at a couple of stages.
For my DS, firstly I realised I'd been using some new liners that he reacted to (home brand disposable liners) and secondly we discovered a corn intolerance that was causing burning poos.
Also, there were always issues through the teething months. That was also when I had disintegrating nappies. When he got past 1ish it got a lot better. But I do agree, it's really disheartening and you simply have to do what's best for the little man, if that's using disposables when necessary, then it's better than putting him through pain. You're still saving the world from one less sposie whenever you are able to use a cloth nappy once.
And it goes without saying, to be nappy free whenever possible at home. I know that's getting harder as it gets cooler though.
