I personally wash on delicate cycle with wool wash.
Then to lanolise I use lansinoh (about a pea size). Dissolve into boiling water, then I add some luke warm water to cool down and place covers in so that they soak. I usually leave overnight then just wring dry and I place on a towel flat to dry.
