Default Re: Adding to the stash??

"With the BG's, I have the sized AIO's and the Baby Beehinds are fitted AIO's . . . "

Aussie Frog - just to clarify and help you with jargon, when you say you have "baby beehinds are fitted AIO's", you might mean that you actually have SIZED AIO's.

a fitted is a nappy entirely made out of absorbent fabric
*used in combination with a cover*

an AIO is a nappy with a waterproof outer
*you don't use a cover with it*

so a "fitted AIO" is a contradiction (to the best of my knowledge)

Fitted - in women's clothing - means an item is tailored to your shape
Fitted - in MCN - means a nappy is made entirely of absorbent fabric and needs a waterproof cover.

MCN jargon is tricky when you first start. The reason i am explaining it, is not to nitpit you, but to help you see the difference, so that when you are surfing MCN shops online, you will find searching for what you are after, a bit easier.

From your existing stash, you have SIZED AIO and OSFA AIO.

About having to wash every day, a suggestion for you. THe bumgenius and baby beehinds you are currently not using, you could start using those, maybe at home only until you get used to them. That would stretch out your washing time.

THere are quite a few brands that do a size (called a number of different things) in the weight range 7 - 15/16kg. In some brands, this is considered a "large" or a "size 2".

So you have three different brands of AIO's at present. Three brands to try and get used to.

Each brand is made differently, and shaped differently, so once using all three, you're bound to notice the differences. You might develop preferences, e.g which brand you'll rely on for the car nappy, the night nappy, the workhorse day nappy, which dries quickest, which is most thirsty, which has best containment, which suits your bub's shape the best. The stuff you only find out by trial and error. ANd sometimes, things that don't quite suit right now, may suit better in a while e.g when bub's is taller for example - they're all so different.

Your medium itti bittis are going to fit for ages if your bub is 6+kg now, cos they run from 6 - 12kg - so you're going to get great usage out of those - bearing in mind, the shape change thang. SOmetimes people find their baby needs one size, starts crawling and walking, and instead of needing the NEXT size up, may STAY in the same size, cos the exercise from the mobility, slims the bubs down, so they stay in the weight range.

it's a pretty inexact science, cos no-one can predict how our bubs will grow. THis was very hard for me to come to terms with in the beginning - as someone who previously, was used to planning everything!!! I expected my bub to put on weight expediently, i was unprepared for the "plateau" effect that happened when she became mobile and those pudgy thighs (that i had grown to love) suddenly vanished.

the nb and small sizes were a short phase
the medium phase seems to be going on forever!
i wonder if we will even GET to the large stage before toilet training LOL

we learn as we go

hope that helps
