Default Jamie Oliver

I think Jamie Oliver should be utterly commended for his show that is on Channel 10 now - probably well and truly over in the Eastern States sorry!

He has basically invited people from many aspects of society to a dinner to see the 'full' dinner, starting from how the animals (chicken and eggs in this case) are treated and killed to supply what we eat. He is showing it how it is. A tank of baby boy chicks have just been killed via euthanasia as they are useless for further egg production. It is staggering even to me as an ex-vegan who has researched and seen it all before. It is just so easy (says she who eats meat now again ) for us to just put these aspects to the back of our mind and eat away. The majority of us, unless brought up on a farm, just don't realise what goes into our eggs and meats and the utterly awful way those nice, clean, cling-wrapped, sanitised trays of chicken pieces are 'made'.

What is that saying? If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian......

Bec.
