I have chickens myself and didn't realise that they cull all the roosters until I went to buy one myself. It was so hard to find one past a few weeks only cause breeders just dont keep them unless they are 'show quality'. So sad really
I didn't realise that this happens in the larger scale operations though. I just assumed they sent the roosters off to become Sunday lunch IYKWIM when they were older.
