I think some kids are just prone to this sort of thing Meagan. I would recommend trying to get a paed dermatology referral as Bec mentioned. Can't hurt to try the naturopath either. Hugs to Lucas.

This worked really well for us. It kept coming back until I did a very hot wash and a number of very hot rinses on of all of her nappies, liners, boosters etc and line dried them for a full day in the sun and it cleared it up and didn't come back. (Confession: I used sposies so that I could wash everything).

Maybe this is a simplistic solution but: when I was pregnant with Row, I seemed to be getting thrush constantly. So, I started making sure I ate a tub of yoghurt each day (one of the ones loaded with acidifulous or whatever the good bacteria is called), and it worked. No more infections.

But I think Ali is right too, you need to clean everything to make sure all possible sources are gone. I'd include his towels & bedding in the hot washes & sun (if you can find any sun!).

All of the above suggestions sound great.

We used hydrozole on 3 times a day under the barrier cream (morning, lunch, before bed). You can only get it from a chemist.

Don't use disposable nappy wipes (although I'm guessing you're not) or most baby washes in the bath. For bathtime use something like QV wash if anything.

Well it got worse and is only now starting to look half way decent. I am taking him to a naturopath on wednesday and we have a paed dermatology appointment in a couple of weeks..... I must take some pics because hopefully it will be gone by then!

I really don't want to use single use nappies and I am so hoping that when it clears it will go away for good! I also don't want to have to use a barrier cream a every change after it has cleared either. It is so awful to see it looking so sore and I can't control the frequency of nappy changes at childcare either, if he was at home I would just let him go naked - which is what we do in the afternoons and on weekends.

Hugs Meagan, have any swabs been taken?

I ask as Abbey had recurrant staph infections where one cream would work for a while then one lot of AB's for a while but as soon as the course ran out the sores came back Once she was out of night nappies it cleared almost instantly as as soon as she started wetting the bed every night again (one day she'll decide she's ready!) they came back. She now wears a disposable 2 nights out of 3 as all her skin can cope with.

I do hope you get some answers soon for your little man!
