Default Something gentle for Dribble Rash??

Macy has a very bad case of dribble rash. It has gotten very very red and inflamed, and kind of weepy.

Does anyone have any gentle suggestions to help??

    TIA

I used to use a powder for Abbey when she got dribble rash (strangley Claire never dribbled!), I think it would have been the curash one as that's all we had back then. But i'm sure the Gaia powder (cornstarch based) would be great.

I used to use powder to dry the area out, I found cream only made it worse.

Thanks Tracee. I never even thought of powder, because we're a powder free house. The first thing I did when DH and I moved in was ban the stuff, because he managed to get it everywhere!! I was sick of cleaning powder from the funniest places,

I'll have to go a buy some for Macy, but hide it

I agree with the lanolin, my ds had really harsh dribble rash and we were told by our nurse to use the pure lanolin (the kind you use for sore nipples) not the lanolin baby moisturisers you get from supermarket as they irritate further. just dry the area first with a soft cloth.....did take a couple of days to look really healed but it definitely worked. Hope it helps

I used the nipple stuff (lanohsol??), worked great.
But as you have described weepy skin, then my personal thing would be dermaid for a little while till the weep stops.
maybe go and see your chemist

Simmons paw paw cream. You can get it online from ecobabe.

Mila used to get it under neck. It looked so sore. I used to make sure the area was really clean.

I got a cotton ball and wiped with sorbolene. Then I'd use bepanthen for healing. Once it started healing I would use cornstarch.

But I found a good wipes with sorbolene was great at keeping it at bay (done every nappy change)

Eamon dribbles a lot more than she ever did but doesnt seem to get the rash there.

Moo Goo works well for that here, and cornstarch in creases to help keep it dry.

I would go the powder as well. E used to get it and it needs to dry out.

Also be aware the Lucas Paw Paw cream is petroleum based. You can get the natural Simmons one at The Wee Wuns.

    Poor bubba good luck!
