    Default He was allergic

I swear this site has just saved me giving up on cloth.

Ash had nappy rash. I posted a thread last week about it. After Bec sending me a whole lot of fleece liners and me using nappy cream on him for 2 days with NO improvement (if anything it got a little worse), I remembered a thread I read on here about babies being allergic to synthetic lining on nappies. So the last 2 days he has ONLY had baby beehinds and cute tooshies and flanny lined bubblebubz on his bum. No more liners, no more cream. I haven't changed the length of time he is in nappies. And like magic his bum is clear. No more red, no more blisters, no more bleeding (yes it got that bad at one point).

Had I not been on this forum and going into this alone, I would have tried the nappy cream, it wouldn't have worked (for obvious reasons) and I would have given up and put him in sposies, blaming the cloth nappies.

So yay for nappycino I am one happy mumma today (can you tell)!

So now what can I line his nappies with? Micro Polarfleece isn't natural is it? What about raw silk liners? Do they have a sorta stay dry effect? Most of my stash is synthetic lined so I need something to line these so I can still use them.

I meant he is allergic to the nappies cos they are stay dry inners I stopped using the stay dry ones like my BG etc and stuck to the bbb/bbh and BD and his rash and blisters have cleared up Problem is most of my stash is BG and things with stay dry inners which I now cant use unlined

So glad he is doing better, must be a huge releif Mel!

I know Bilbylove made some flannel liners for her nappies with synthetic inners. I suppose you'll have to see if he reacts to even the smallest bit of fleece against his skin to see how big/small the liners will be.

Don't stress about having a stay dry feel against his bot, it's not a must have. The fibres we found the most stay dry-ish (cos being natural they won't be completely stay dry) were bamboo velour and cotton velour as the pile of the fabric kind of draws away the moisture to the back of the fabric (gosh does that make sense outside my own head?)

I suppose that's why the Cute Tooshie BD are the best for a night nappy? He just isn't bothered by the wet of them. I take them off in the morning and they are REALLY wet, right through to the top layer (and I boost with bamboo under the velour) but he isn't bothered Maybe I will make some bamboo velour liners for him.

Great idea!! I use a mix of home made flanny wipes and facewashers for bum changes so I will just pop them in the nappy!
