    Default It's sooo bad :(

I know it's not really the bottom end but I have had it!! I have tried every cream at the chemist. I have done the elimination diet. His eczema was heaps better than his worst... come Spring and he has broken out again!!

So I go buy Calendulis Plus Cream from the health food store, hoping that it would help! Well it made it worse!!! There goes $55

What now? He is already on Dr prescribed cortisone cream which has stopped working. Help I hate seeing him so itchy...

hugs Mel i feel for you.
we tried the calendula plus cream but it didn't work either. in our case, moisturise and cortisone are the only things that get it under control. we now know the culprit is environment, stuff like carpet, grass and sand. it's not a problem at home but every time she comes back from daycare, it flares up so badly

hope you find a solution soon.

    poor fella
When Tate's looked like that it was infected. He needed anti-biotics and canesten to fix it. You might need to take him back to the dr, or perhaps its time for the dermatologist?
We're still having problems with Tatie's, I'm hoping that the warmer weather and no heating on will help it heaps, it has never been this bad in the past. Damn you eczema!!!

We have horrid spring excema too, its related to the pollons etc.. as excema/ hayfever and asthma are all from the same gene (i get hayfever so DS2 inherited that) we did the elimination diet and it made no diff to his excema. He is covered from head to foot.

The only thing that i can suggest (as i have been here a few times crying about the same thing) is cortisone cream, and dermeze with baby legs over the top where you can. And then every time he walks past you, i mean 20+ times a day smother him in cream- any moisuriser that is fragrence free.

If it is infected though it wont get better with the cotisone. He might need antis and a stronger cream. I would take him back to the GP, but do persist with constantly somothering him in cream.

the reason the cream you bought prob didnt work is the excema is prob related to flowers, which the cream is made out of. I have not tried it for this reason.

    Bron- what is that clinic?

And good luck, praying that he grows out of it!

I did look into that AAE thing, but at this time going to melbourne is something we aren't in a position to do.
