    Unhappy Still got problems.....

Ok so we tried no liners and using only bamboo velour as a liner and things cleared up for us. Now after one night in his BBB with no liner we have a sore again. WHAT IS GOING ON?? Maybe wearing cloth overnight is just TOO much? What do you all think in your wisdom? Atm I'm thinking we may have to go with sposies overnight

    Hugs Bec.

Have you tried flushable liners? I have some here and can send a couple with your parcel tomorrow if you like? (They feel like paper and can be cut to fit your nappies).

I would probably stick with disposables at night till his penis is completely healed. Then try using a liner, if he reacts to that particular liner, let him heal (using disposable nappies) and then try a different liner...and so forth.

Also giving all your nappies a good sunning might kill any yucky germs that might be lurking.

I don't like disposable nappies, but as a temporary thing I say don't feel too bad and if Jake is better off then who can argue with that.

Thanks Hayley I used flushable liners in the beginning but didn't like that I had to buy them all the time Plus he's not a pooer much so it's kinda a waste of money I figure. Thanks for the step by step how-to I totally agree with you and needed it set out in plain english and not the jumble in my head! lol. I feel so guilty when I don't use my cloth. I will do what you said though, thanks. I did hang them out in the sun/wind/rain today, Mel!

I am going to take him to the drs I think, it may be an infection my sister seems to think. She's a nurse so I guess she's got some merit Will get it checked out all the same then I'll know once and for all. I have to admit I'm nervous about telling the dr he's in cloth for fear of being told it's causing it. Or that I shouldn't have him in cloth.

Hippi Chick, I use Earth's Choice liquid, and only a tiny smidge of it. I don't think it would be this? That's interesting about the vinegar, I used to use vinegar when we first started.

All healing atm, been in sposies so I think we'll do that until we see the dr. Will let you know how we go.

I find BBH is too rough for a night nappy, especially if it comes straight off the washing line! BBB are lovely, soft and very absorbant!

    Good luck!

Good question pheebs.....I'm hoping so but no, I don't really think so. He could be because of his age (now closer to 7 months) but I don't see any evidence of teeth close by, the occasional bouts of grumpiness and constant dribbling but no teeth!

I have been putting my BBH and BBB in the dryer for a few minutes to soften them up. Sorry, I meant to say I use the BBB at night, not BBH.

Well, we went to the Drs, and apparantly it is a fissure that is slightly infected and never healed properly. So we have some cream for it for five days. I hope this clears it up!

So I've taken the plunge, can stand the sposies no more and have put him to bed back in cloth I even used the microfleece liner as this doesn't seem to be the problem. Well I'll know soon enough I guess!!

Sounds promising Bec. The blistery things DS had ended up healing with daktozin. We also rinsed all our nappies in canestan. Make sure you line your nappies well if you are using a cream whilst using your cloth nappies. I found some of the creams soaked through the liners and still stained my nappies :-(

Well the cream didn't clear it up.

We've just had 5 days of oral antibiotics and today I had to peel his foreskin off the nappy OUCH!

So back to the GP and after a second opinion this time it seems Jake has Phimoses (I think!?) which means his foreskin is too tight resulting in redness and infection. So we now have a referral to the hospital and are waiting on an appointment letter in the mail. Seems Jake will have to be circumcised after all!

Although I'm sorry he's going to have to have this done I am selfishly pleased that it has nothing to do with MCN!

keep an open mind re circumcision, as it should be the last resort treatment.
there are non-invasive treatments that would usually be explored first, like steroid creams.

I had to stop putting Alex in cloth overnight. He ended up with big welts that bled just around his balls & above his anus.
He was put onto 6 courses of antibiotics, we had to do 3 lots of stool samples, doctor even thought it was a staf infection at one stage.
I ended up changing my laundry powder & putting him into sposies at night & that cleared it up - left 2 big scars though.
