    Question wrinkly area? problem

OK, I'm sorry I don't know how to describe this well, but in the last week my 3.5 month old daughter has developed a wrinkly area on her vulva area. It isn't red as such, but it looks a different colour.

I initially thought it was due to dry skin, as I use curash powder when changing her. So I stopped that and I tried some natures cradle baby bottom balm and some gaia skin soothing lotion (with sposies- maybe I should dig out my liners- but I'm paranoid of getting the lotion on the nappies) and it did nothing.

I thought maybe it is due to using cloth overnight (and hence being too damp- yep the exact opposite) and tried sposies with the curash, but that did nothing.

I'm currently trying some nappy free time (her first time, I feel like she is a bomb waiting to go off )

It it normal? or should I try something else?
    Thanks

Try some Daktozin cream. It is like a barrier cream but with an antifungal in it. To me it sounds like a bit of thrush - could be possible if you had medications toward the end of the pregnancy, or during birth, or ante-natally - or if bubs has been on antibiotics. The wrinkly appearance is spot on for it (was just discussing that exact thing with the paediatrician on Monday ).

hmm. I've been on antibiotics for the last week - thanks for the suggestion.

If that is the case, I should probably be vigilant about putting the nappies to dry in the sun too- no cheating in the drier occasionally

If you definately suspect thrush, ask about myostatin cream instead then, I'm not too sure if it's okay for the wee little ones, but my 3 year old just got some for her current thrush.

I'm not sure if it is. I know that I haven't had any recently- but something like 20% of women have the yeast present, but are asymptomatic.

I guess I will have to ask the pharmasist about the creams. I'm not really wanting to put on anything too medicated on her without having it checked out, unless it is fine for bubs to just "try".
    She isn't fussing or anything.

Daktozin cream really works. I used that for my niece's skin.
