Default Red bum from itti bitti's?

    Hi Everyone
I'm just after some advice on my bubs red bum.

I have a nice stash of itti bitti dlish's which I have started using on my bub who is almost 11 wks.

My problem is when I use them his bub starts getting red and it gets worse the longer I do it until I decide to use a sposie & some covitol cream to clear it up. I have tried using paw paw cream but it doesn't seem to help and I sometimes think it make it worse.

I use a very small amount of Aware sensitive skin washing powder so I would have thought he wouldn't react to it.

I'm hopping its not the itti bitti's as I really like them.

    Any ideas would be great.

    Thanks

A friend had this problem and worked out it was the suedecloth lining. Does he rash up in nappies with other linings?

Thanks. I will have to try to get some micro fleece liners. Can I buy them somewhere or did you just get the fabric from spotlight?

I'm trying him in some cotton prefolds to see if he has a problem with them. If he does then I might try some different detergent.

The only other nappies I have are a few bumgenious One size ones which are still fairly bulky on him at the moment so I prefer the ittis (plus I have about 20 of them!)

I was going to say suedecloth too.
If microfleece doesn't help you might have to try a natural non poly lining.

you can buy it at spotlight. they also sell cotton velour which is another thing to try if the bum is still red with mirco fleece liners

I absolutely love my itti d'lish. My daughter gets this too. Only if we leave them on overnight though. She will have a red bottom. She can handle them in the day as I change her every two hours and check them regularly when we are out.

Bitti boo's have a velour lining on the inside and she now wears these at night and she is fine with it.

Lately I have a d'lish day then a Bubblebubs day to give her a break from the booster in the itti's. I have enought d'lishs for 2 days in a row : ) Have just got some extra snap in boosters so can stretch them out a bit longer.

My son has a terrible reaction to Rumpsters and I could tell it was the lining as the red would be in the shape of the booster. Poor little darling. They were a nice fitting AIO but has to sell them. I only had 3 so was lucky I didn't by more. Don't want to try them with my daughter in case the same thing happens.

I have now found with my daughter though that she may be allergic to Aplix. As she had two squares on her hips that were red and looked like excema. I worked it our pretty quickly that it is where the tabs to use when you fold it back to wash in the laundry was sitting on her hips. Went back to my snap nappies and it cleared up.

A lot of trial and error. But MCN is great. The idea of a liner over the top sounds like a good idea. Wonder if Sue could get you some other hourglass shaped boosters to try like the one's in the boo's and see if it still happens.

My DD2 also reacts to suedecloth and I also have about 25 Ittis which I love. I got some cotton velour and cut up liners. Make sure you cut with the natual roll going end to end not across.

I haven't edged then at all and they don't fray so no worries there. Since then no redness at all. I have made enough now to use in all our nappies as she does not react well to fleece either.

I bought some microfleece yesterday from spotlight. I asked about cotton velour but they didn't have any and didn't seem to know what it was.

I will test out some liners I made today (waiting for him to wake up so I can change his nappy!). Hopefully he is ok with the fleece liner otherwise I will have to try to find the cotton velour.

    Thanks for the advice
