    Default Nothings working??

Well not even bamboo prefolds seem too be stopping ellas rash anymore. she is reacting too everything. i had a pul cover over a prefold and now the rash is in her thighs aswell, showed the doc and he is gunna try her on a steriod cream. i feel terrible. i dont know what too do it came up within half an hour a huge rash. just when i think its gone it comes bak. she is reacting everywhere... she must be allergic too something in the pul and nappies but what?? why would she react too all of them?? i havent been using detergent and have stripped them and the pul wouldnt hold detergent would it??

PUL could well be the culprit. I'm fairly sure that Bek's children had terrible reactions to the pul. I would if you can ditch the covers as much as possible and see what happens.

Ouch! That is no good. Wool covers may be a good option, BBH's have them on special for the old coloured wool covers at the moment $15 each... could be worth a try. Slightly lower rise than the $25 natural coloured version though.

I'd highly recommend you try some salt baths too. They are great for calming down rashes, and calomile lotion before the steriod cream.

For the mean time, see how she goes with some more air time, and no covers. You may just have to check her more regularly to change her.

    Hope that helps,

sometimes it can take a few (read 10 or more) washes for the nappies to be ok when you stop using detergent.
Strip washing can still leave residue so she could be reacting to this.
    Use only natural inners
    Wash them in hot water

and yes PUL is a culprit many times

It would be worth a try. But could it be heat-related? My Ella goes most of the day bare-bummed, only has a nappy on for sleeping & when she tells me she needs to wee. Occasionally has an accident on the tiles, but it's so easy to just chuck a terry flat to clean it!
Have you tried wiping her with cooled chamomile tea w/ lavender EO & aloe vera? I swear by it!

Claire reacted to anything that wasn't a natural fibre and needed to be changed very frequently in order to prevent her rashing. She would get a burn looking rash that would end up with layers of skin peeling off if PUL, fleece, suedecloth etc came into contact with her butt/legs.

In your case I'd stick with the bamboo prefolds, change them as soon as they're wet, even if it means every 5 minutes and use no covers while you're at home.
When she's in bed, if you have a natural lined fitted nappy, use that and lay an underlay/waterproof mattress protector under her with a flannel wrap or even better a felted woolen blanket over that.

Be wary of fold over elastic, it causes the same reaction even now on Claire, she gets a bright red mark wherever the FOE touches her thighs, and we've treid 3 or 4 different brands of FOE!
