    Default Soap and fragrance free

Over the past couple of weeks or so I've noticed that Erin has had a rash. At first I thought it was because I'd changed washing powders so I changed back and if anything it's gotten so. Anyway, her doctor seems to think it eczema and that she's allergic to the fragrances in her bath wash (because it's soap free already).

Today I bought her some dermaveen wash to see if that helps. Thing is, it's $10 for a small bottle and at the rate she goes through bubble bath (she's afraid of the water unless she can't see that it is water she's getting into - just one of her many charming quirks) it'll be gone within the fortnight so I'm kind of hoping one of you guys know of a cheaper (or bigger) soap and fragrance free body wash.

What about a shower? Baths will dry her skin out which will agrevate the excema. that way less water, less bath stuff??

I only thought of it as bathing the kids is something i hate doing...they get a bath a month if they are lucky, and only if DS asks! Showers make our lives SOOOOO much easier!!

Try something like goats milk soap (no need for bath lotion type stuff either)..

Once she's in the bath she loves it - it's just the getting in part that's the problem. But she really loves it otherwise and it keeps her busy so I get a nice quiet 5 - 10 minutes each morning while I watch her.

It might be time to try and wean back the amount of bubbles again.

Quiet? In the bath? Jeepers, with my two I end up soaked and the bathroom flooded!

Erin's the kind of kid who constantly wants one on one attention bath times are one of the only times when she's not trying to get me to do something with her.

I have very dry skin and Jas gets spots of eczema so I haver never bothered a great deal about soaps and bath washes. I make my own soap and its only ever used for spot washes, ie using on dirty spots like feet rather than latehring all over. Jasmine's problem areas have been a lot better this summer (when it is usually worse) since I have been adding some QV to her bath. Its about $21 for 1lt but you only use a capful and we dont use it every night, more often if her skin is looking dry or sore and they dont always have a bath, some nights is a shower so it lasts us a long time.

I read something the other day about sprinkling powder on the top of the water... Just an idea. Dunno what the water would end up like though?
