    Question Quick Help please!!

Charlotte has a red raw bum from having diarrhea since yesterday!!! She is screaming every time I change her, and for quite a while afterward, even though I'm trying to be really gentle.

Can anyone recommend a cream I can either get from the chemist or something I may have around the house I can use??? Or any other advice would be great!

    Thanks in advance!

Have you tried nappymate Monica? It is a chemist only one and really thick. I lather it on and then use a fleece liner in whatever nappy it is, whether it has a fleece lining in it already or not. Also try using a weak chamomile tea mix in your wipes water !that may help. Also lots of nappy free time and maybe some sunlight on it, a bit hard I know but the sun is meant to help. Good luck poor little girl!

Thanks Meagan, might go to the chemist and see if they've got any!! I already use chamomile tea with wipes, and she's been in the garden 'helping' us this afternoon with no nappy on, so hopefully that will help a bit.

even vaseline should help provide a barrier to help her poor bottom until you can get something else.

I cannot think of the cream i get, can pick it up chemist woolies etc, the general nappy rash one, comes in the tube. I use it so little I have not bought it for over a year so just cannot think of what it is called.

Little Spencer sends his sympathies to little Charlotte. He too has a red raw bum, but his is a side-effect from antibiotics

I've just had him nakey-bum all afternoon, and have just caked his bottom with sudocrem before putting his nappy on for bed.

Poor little bubba's. It really doesn't look pleasant at all.

Desitin! I had the same with DS2 maybe a year ago now when he had pretty bad gastro. Nothing was working, not even sudocrem and the lovely ladies here on NC suggested Desitin. I swear by it, but be warned it's not very cloth nappy friendly.

I'd go with pawpaw cream for 'matinence' once the severity has died down- it's all natural, allows the skin to breathe and is washable, as far as I know.... hope it gets better soon, poor possum....

Bepanthen (spelling?) always worked well here - I also used to put Alex in a bath with added bi-carb (tip from my mum) & still do if he ever has a sore bottom, it really helps soothe.

Our chemist has a cream with canlendula in it. Wonderful. But I do swear by bottom balm from natures child in Byron. I bought 4 jars of it when H was born. They are stilll going think I am down to the last and that's been 4 years
