A few weeks back I noticed Iain was getting a red mark across the top of his tummy, sort of in between his belly button & where your pubic bone is.
After a little thinking I realised its right where the top of the boosters to his nappy sits. he either wears Wilchilds or Ittis.
So if you can picture where the end of these boosters would sit, this is were the red mark was. I thought that maybe the moisture at the top of the booster was hitting on his skin so I started putting a fleece liner over the top & folded over the booster so no part of it would be touching his belly.
But now its just getting worse.
The whole front of his nappy area is red. Its not too nasty looking, as in there are no blisters etc but the area is very red. It also extends down his thighs a bit also.
But his Bum is totally clear.
What I think is happening is the edges of the boosters are rubbing in these spots causing the redness. But short of ditching my stash & moving to pockets what can I do?
It doesn't seem to bother him..yet but its getting worse not better.
I have started putting toss away liners & smothering him in zinc cream to keep the moisture off the area but I have never really had to deal with nappy rash before so Im a little lost (yep even after 4 kids LOL)
I found Charlotte had a really bad reaction to the ittis once they were weed in, they may be your culprit, I'd just try using natural inner nappies to see if this helps at all? If it's just the rubbing of the actual booster maybe just try laying the fleece liner all the way over the booster and onto the nappy, rather than folding it over the booster, this may be enough to stop it rubbing a bit?

James gets something similar to that sometimes. The rash usually sits across his belly or on the hip where the edges of the nappies touch him. Not sure if it happens to any particular nappies as I don't really take much notice When this happens I just put all the nappies (yes all, 'cos I don't know which one causes the problem) in a washing machine, run a hot rinse cycle and that always works. I figured it could be a bit of detergent residue.
