Question OT- lambswool

not sure where to post this- if it should be in idle talk please feel free to move it!!

I'm thinking about getting a lambswool cover thing to use in the pram etc and wondered if anyone had any recommendations or if anyone here sold them?

I don't think we'll use it in the cot as we bought some super breathable mattress that is supposed to be wonderful ?? so i don't want an extra layer between the baby and the mattress, but i imagine the wool would be nice to just lay on or for out and about in the pram... Is there anything in particular that you need to look for when buying lambswool? or are they pretty much all the same?

thanks!

i use the ones that are available from mothers direct (www.mothersdirect.com.au)
they're clipped so they're not too long and shaggy (sorry, bad description, lol!) and they're 100% sheepskin, ie not wool on a synthetic backing.
one of the cotsize ones i have is able to be hot washed and tumbledried, i think it's called a medical grade lambskin or something? i used it heaps for sticking on the floor for bub to lie on. i've also got a couple of bassinet size ones i use in the stroller for the 2 boys, and a stroller insert size one that i have in ben's seat in the car. 2 cotsize one i have i bought 1 when rhiannon was a baby and one when mikey was a baby, and both are still going strong.
we love them

thanks for that-
Are the regular sized ones too big or too cunbersome to put in a pram?? I have seen the liners (like a rectangle rather than the shaped ones) and thought that i would prefer the shaped ones but not if they won't fit in a pram...

depends on the size of your pram, i guess. on mine they go up the sides a long way when you put them into the pram - the bassinet size ones (the rectangle) are a much better pram size. you can carefully cut slits in the skin to put the straps through as well but i definately like the cot size shaped ones for putting on the floor for bub.
hang on, i'll measure mine...
the retangular/bassinet one is about 36 x 72cm
the cot/shaped one is about 98cm long, about 52cm across the widest part of the narrow end (neck end?) and about 63cm across the other end (where the legs/bum would have been )

is that helpful for you??
