Hi Leanne!

I second the oat bath. We used the Dermaveen oats bath and afterwards, we mixed up some of the oat mix into a paste and put that on Jade's eczema - the Dermaveen cream didn't really help, but the paste did!

Hope Sienna feels more comfortable soon!

Ying I'll take a look at the Moogoo too.

I started using senstive washing liquid and it didn't make a different. Then I used laundry balls, and I don't think that has really made a difference either. It's good to use clothes made of natural fibres. Things like polar fleece can make eczema worse. The other thing is to skip a bath if the eczema is particularly bad. Tap water is actually pretty harsh on baby's skin.

I found plain old olive oil (about 1 Tbs) in DS's bath worked miracles on his eczema

No miracle cures here but one of my rellies gets contact dermatitis on her butt cheeks when she sits on a toilet seat that has been cleaned with dettol She was in her 50s by the time she made the connection (after years of using dettol to clean her loo seat)...

Another vote for the oats in the bath. Really worked for DS. Is there a change in diet, creams, fabrics or anything else that may have triggered it off (stress and heat are other ones).

There's a great cream in some chemists with emu oil and calendula. That's our fav. when DS's flairs up.

If she scratches it make sure you keep her nails short as this will make it worse.

We use QV as an ongoing easy preventative measure.

Hope it clears soon.

Most of my children suffer from it and I agree that oats are great in the bath. Winter is always the worst time for it because the cold makes the skin dry up and itch for people that don't suffer from it, let alone for those that do.
Although I have to admit I haven't heard of it affecting the areas you mentioned very often. Make sure her underpants are cotton and not synthetic & not too tight.
My youngest suffers from it badly and I found something that works a treat by accident over the last week. Lanolin from his longies!! So maybe consider buying some lanolin spray and giving her underpants a light spray..sounds odd but it might work.

O.K so this might be a really stoopid question, but can you throw your Uncle Toby's Oats that you make porridge with, in the bath?

Try the natural base cream or calendula balm from handmade naturals in Brisbane. google Hand made Naturals, they do amil order and these products are the ones that I have used on jack for the past year with much success in treating his eczema.

Does she wear pullups.

My oldest DD used to get a terrible rash from them. She only used to wear one at ngiht.

We had to get a cortisone cream.
