Oh dear! You must be feeling awful.
The difference if I remember right, in what happened to Brooke is that she had childcare workers who told child protection that Emily had herpes, and the Dr immediately said that it wasn't, whereas in your case the dr thinks that it is one of the possibilities based on the way the rash looks. I don't think a 2nd opinion would help except for having a doctor you trust to have a look and talk it through with you, as even if they think it is unlikely they would probably still say 'let's wait for the tests to come back'. But it could help you to feel able to think of the tests as being useful insomuch as they eliminate the possibility that he is right. Let us know what happens, Hugs, Fiona

Thanks for the info Laura - it is actually clearing up really well at the moment. No more blisters and the blister that were there are healing nicely. The doctor said it takes a week for the tests to come back (they need to grow cultures etc?) so I will find out on Thurs.
This doctor is new to the practice and looks very young so hopefully he is mistaken. I will be changing my appointment on Thurs so that I get the results from my usual doctor. I will also be letting her know that I don't appreciate the way this doctor has handled the situation. B.

Hi Bec - I hope everything is OK with your little princess. Cold sores take 7 - 10 days to heal so if this rash is clearing then it probably is just a bad nappy rash.

Thats terrible..hopefully u get an apology too *hugs* I found an excellent gp last yr but unfortunately we moved across sydney but apart from that I dont have a regular cause the BS that comes out of some of their mouths is worrying. Prolly some of the worst has been one ask me if I was "pro" cause I constantly kept getting thrush (before I knew I had diabetes) and I was only 17.. and another one discouraged me from going straight to hospital when I had seriously high sugar levels. He wanted to manage it himself even though he was defientely not a specialist

Is that molloscum contagiosum you're reffering too? If so my little girl has had it and now finally recovered, I have *heaps* of useful/useless info. I can pass on - not fun at all!

That doctor is a d***head
Aiden has a blister right now and has had them in the past too. It's from the acid in the poo/wee burning the skin which then blisters up. I'm so sorry he put that garbage in your head. Bec please get a second opinion and don't go back to that quack. Oh Donna was here last night and saw the blister too, so she can verify for you they aren't at all uncommon especialy during teething time.Love to you (((HUGS))) |

Eeep Bec,
(((hugs))) As long as I've been dealing with doctors..... there have always been the odd ones who are a PITA because they lack basic sensitivity. Don't take it personally, and I'm sooo glad the rash is clearing. I'm sure all will be fine with the test results. Please give Gracie a big kiss and hug from Liam and I!
