I do at least 10 loads a week and my machine takes forever! Feels like it is constantly running. I really need to get a larger capacity, it is only 5.5kg I think. Does anyone know what the biggest front loader you can buy is?

I tend to wash about 2-3 times a week and we have at least 3-5 loads each time.
I always feel I am washing and folding.

we are getting an ASKO as they are 'the best' that you can get as I dont think they have gears- thats the thing that ususlly goes wrong, but they are not 'that' big. You can get giant ones, like 10kg LG. But they are well over $1000
The asko is 6kg, but its bigger than a 6kg top loader as you can 'stuff it' and it doesnt have the middle bit. I am so excited about getting it!

My girlfriend has the 10kg LG and she loves it.
... although it's just her, hubby and their adult daughter at home now....![]() I try to wash everyday just to keep on top of it... but usually every second and that's only a load each time (not keen on waiting the 2 hours for each load and taking a whole day with our front loader.... )That is of course with myself and 3 kids - one who changes every two hours or so...LOL and one still fulltime in nappies... will be interesting once no 4 comes along..

Lindy, I have a 10kg LG washer / drier combo which I love. I think from memory it was expensive but should last a looooooooong time so was happy to pay for it. Can't remember how much - $2000 is ringing a bell for some reason. Only thing I am now jealous is that LG have now put a steam clean function in the brand new ones - I love new electrical appliances.

well we're obviously horrible slobs. I voted 1-2, but I tend to wash once a week to once a fortnight (about 3 loads).... Sometimes I wash more often, but we normally have a constant laundry hamper full of washing to do...... its our clothes rotation policy
![]() I'd join a nudist colony before I'd constantly do several loads of washing a day..... all that water! Eeek!!!!! Our water catchment areas are at like 45% full...... so I can't have clean clothes each day and use so much water that we desperately need. I feel guilty because at the moment I'm not bucketing the water out onto the garden (I really need to rig up a hose from the outlet).... but in summer (and when I get it together at other times) I bucket every bit of water from each wash I do, so it's not "wasted" We're only using night nappies now, so I wash when we've run out, hubby wears the same pair of jeans/pants to work every day and just changes shirt, socks and boxers, and then does his own wash at the end of the week. I tend to wear the same clothes a couple of times before I wash them, as does Tahlia (unless they get dirty and they go in the wash), she does go through a lot of undies (with little drip accidents), but we have a HUGE supply of those. I guess that's the key to infrequent washing, having tons of undies! I don't wash the towels or sheets nearly as often as I should. Sometimes I toss them in the normal wash, sometimes I do a separate load.
