I've found my northern essences wool wash - monkey farts has caused a few colour bleeds too.

It's happened on a hand dyed soaker from Candice, a pair of knitted longies from Fiona (not sure of the wool used) and even my sams soaker bled a bit. All of these have a pink base to them so not sure if that was the problem and that colour is affected by that scent?

Interesting link you may have found Julie.

I only use the NE wool wash atm Joh, before that I used a small amount of lansinoh and a Jurlique baby wash without problems.

Now all my woollies get washed in the NE and I have some which are plain (solid) colours - orange and navy which haven't run at all, also all my green/purple/blue dyed coloured woollies have been fine/ They all get washed the same way tho.

hmmm..I don't have problem with any of my wool...oh except one that dyed by Dyelicious but the colour runs on my bedsheet and I put it down to the soaker being too damp. Didn't think about the wool wash or lanolin at all.

I have both northern essence wool wash and spray lanolin, have no problem with them when washing.

I am mostly interested in colour migration not so much bcolour bleeding (where you get colour run) but when they colours bleed out and blend.

I haven't expereinced this myself but there have bene reports that some scents are doing this (not just NE but a range of products)
please let me know if they have so I can let other buyers know.

Not Pegasus Katanya - I haven't washed them yet and will be doing them with wool wash and lansinoh when I do.

I don't wash my woolies very often for this reason. I'm scared of ruining them
I only ever wash if they are pretty dirty... & our longies are only day wear not night wear!

One point to remember is that RED DYE, on any fabric whether commercially dyed or hand dyed, is notorious for colour runs and bleeding often throughout the life of the garment. When companies could use horrible chemicals to set the dyes they were good, but when they had to swap to safer dyes then it became very difficult to set red properly. (Info on setting chemicals came from DMC about two years ago)

I had some dyed wool run when I used Lambs Wool Soap on it, ran terribly and changed the entire colour of the garment. Supermarket wool wash didn't affect the colours at all.

I thought the water looked a little blue/green last time. I washed my blue Poochies cover and green Llamajama longies. It doesn't seem to have affected them (they still look ok) but the water was definitely quite dark.

What can I do?
