Charlottes poos have been TOXIC lately and its staining all my nappies :-( not helped by the crappy Canberra winter weather.

I wonder if wet pailing would help with stains??

What did you end up doing Beanie? I wet pailed in the beginning but got worried about having a bucket of wet water around when Isabel became mobile.

I wet pail mine - mostly because they are only night nappies now, and I'm not going to wash them daily.
I have found that with my front loader, if I do a clothes wash and put the nappy in, it doesn't rinse thoroughly enough and really irritates the skin.
So I wet pail until i've got enough for a load, then wash. I often do a second wash cycle with no detergent as a rinse too. I know it's not the best use of water - but then, I can bucket off the water out into the garden so it's not all going to waste!

I wet pail in plain water- my bucket is up in the laundry trough. I do this instead of an initial rinse cycle in the machine.

Good idea Lindy!

I'll soon be washing every day though so it probably won't be as much of an issue for me

Ali, I started washing every day. I throw our own underwear and a towel or whatever in with them, so the load fills up. It has made a definite difference to the smell etc.

I have been using MCN for the last 17.5 months, I have never dry pailed always soaked them in a bucket of water with half the recomended amount of napisan. I have never had any problems with the elastic going or any sort of smells or anything. I know nappisan isnt recomended.. but I did it at my own risk, and so far every thing is ok

Only with poey nappies. I give them a rinse under the tap, them in a bucket of plain water.

I too do this with the pooey nappies.

If the weather is nasty I dry them inside on a clothes airer and try to position it in the sunniest spot in the house to help with the stains. Funnily enough, this is usually the laundry!
