I chose bamboo and hemp. I would've said just bamboo but it's just not holding up well enough. Nearly all of my bamboo nappies have died in the past few weeks. It's so depressing!

That's interesting. I have only just started using bamboo on j&n. What are the tips for caring for bamboo?

I
bamboo for it's softness & absorbency, but I agree that cotton is the fastest drying & hemp does get 'that' smell about it.I've decided that when we have our next bub I'm going to start off using terry or bamboo squares, like I did with Alex, then move into MCN as they get bigger.

I like Bamboo... can't handle the smell of the hemp and cotton is good for rainy days here (but our stash is so big it doesn't matter
)

I voted bamboo
love it for its absorbency and softness. I think bamboos fabrics drying times differ. The bamboo fleece seems to dry much quicker than the towelling. I have bamboo vbsn and b4b night nappy which are both bamboo fleece (i think )and both dry quicker than some of my other bamboo towelling or even hemp aio nappies.My only bamboo that is falling apart is my bamboo pocket inserts and they have lasted pretty well really for how much I have used them. I haven't cared for them any differently to how I would hemp Ali.

the bamboo drying time depends on the layers sewn together, gsm of the fabric and the percentage of bamboo in the blend. most most fleece has 15-30% cotton in the blend, whereas the terry tends to have a higher percentage of bamboo. the more cotton, the faster it's going to dry, and lighter weight fabric will absorb less water when washed, so again will dry faster.

I have a real love for bamboo atm I've even fallen in love again with flats LOL as long as they are bamboo my chubby bubba looks so sweet in them crawling around
I find hemp just dont last with my boys super wees and the smell ewwwwww I like cotton for quick drying like I love the prefolds I got for bub when he was born and Im now using them as stuffing in pockets but I do have to use a bamboo booster as well so it last

bamboo is great because of the absorbency, but I don't like the drying time or the fact that it is not as durable as hemp
hemp is great, not as absorbent as bamboo but great for day nappies, yeah it does get smelly but hey, thats just an extra wash and rinse to fix every once in a while Cotton and micro fibre are great for pockets I would say that I only have a preference for the fibre depending on what nappy I'm putting on.
