Smelly fleece covers - help

I recently acquired some 2nd hand Keester Kovers and they were stuck in my mailbox all day in searing 39C degree heat. When I opened them there was a bit of a urine smell and so far I haven't been able to shift it.

I have washed several times and done strip washes and sunned them heaps and I can still smell it. Granted it isn't really strong and you have to stick your nose right on the cover to smell it but I'm fussy

What are the rules with fleece and what could I add in perhaps to remove the odour?

Maybe try a couple of drops of tea tree or lavendar in the wash next time?

try soaking in water/bicarb.its not good for the elastic but if the smell bothers you that much its worth it!
