Default another question :) stains??

I have just washed my first load of used nappies and the lovely yellow b/f poo marks are still on them...

I have read if it is sunny the sun will bleach them....

If it is not sunny how do you get them stain free??

(btw the are bum genius pockets with microfibre inserts)

Thanks ...

I find that even if it's cloudy they still usually come out as there are uv rays even without sunshine. If it's raining, I have to dry inside but the stains usually come out with the next lot of outside exposure. Some tough stains take a second exposure to get completely removed.
I've got BG pockets too, and I've found over time my inserts have yellowed (not stained, just changed colour), but I'm sure a soaker of some description would bring them back to white. I haven't bothered though, as they aren't seen anyway.

ditto what Paula said.
Stains arent a health issue - they are still clean. But UV rays (sunny or not) almost always take care of them after 1 or 2 washes

angelbuglet

i use the Little Squirt on the pooey nappies, as soon as we have changed the nappy. That gets off the poo immediately.

little squirt is a toilet attachment, a hose with a trigger on the end, you squirt the water pistol bit AT the poo on the nappy (holding nappy low down in toilet bowl) and the poo then gets flushed down the loo. so you are left with a sopping wet nappy to place in the nappy pail, but the poo is off.

i don't have access to outline washing line, so this is what i do to remove stains. works for us.

sun usually does the job, but if you're worried a little rub with some Sard Wonder soap will budge them

My inserts are also really stained and stiff. I have been drying them inside for the past few months but its sunny today so I'm definitely going to hang them outside.
