Default Can you use the clothes dryer for PUL Nappies

Can you throw PUL AIO nappies/pockets in the clothes dryer?

Is it best on warm or HOt?

Will it damage the PUL?

HOw about the boosters and liners.... will bamboo or microfibre be ruined in the dryer...

It is raining and i need nappies!!!!! ( i prefer the sun but dont have any!)

Thanks

its should be fine on warm (ive been lazy lately and now use mine)
however yes your nappies might not last as long as if you dont use it, so id recommend occasional use only.

Same as Joh said. Except I'm probably more lazy because I'd say I'm a semi regular dryer user and my pul nappies (itti's) have stood up ok so far and most of those would be at least 18months old but I do have a rather large rotation of nappies

When I have a dryer, I use it occasionally and did for over 12 months until we came here...all of our nappies of all different materials are fine.

I've actually read somewhere on this forum that damaged PUL can sometimes be repaired by putting it throught the dryer. So as the others said, occasional dryer use certainly shouldn't damage them.

When I have nappies really need, I put the boosters in the dryer on hot and hang the covers/pockets around the laundry picking up any excess warm air. They dry within an hour.

Yes well when the rest of my fluffy mail arrives this week i should have enough to not use the dryer... i will need to buy a horse to put them on in the laundry to try the drying trick that way!

Totally agree with this method. This is how I do it if I need to use the dryer.

PUL is not some magical, mystical material that can withstand anything. It is basically a plastic, if you heat it up enough it will melt. To heat it up enough to repair itself is a fallacy, to get it to those temps you are basically "melting" your PUL and running the risk of a whole lot of other problems. That doesn't even take into consideration your elastic which is made of polyester and has a recommended washing temp of 40 degrees.

You can put your PUL in the dryer on low/medium but to be honest if you put your boosters in the dryer on warm and hang the shells near the dryer they will be ready at the same time and you don't risk damaging your nappies.
