Default What am I doing wrong?

I have a couple of peapods, which I love, but I've found that they've become smelly straight after DD wees. I got them secondhand and at first they were fine so it's got to be something I'm doing (or not doing) that's the problem Right?

I don't use a specific brand of soap powder and only use about a 1/4 of a scoop with each load. I've tried using less but that doesn't seem to have helped. I've done a strip wash, again that didn't help. They're always dried out in the sun and smell fine when I take them off the line, but straight after that first wee they smell again.

DD has always had smelly wee but I've not had the same problem with her nappies of other brands. Does anyone have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong or what could fix the problem?

this sometimes happens with our magicalls, ive tried the stip wash too but hasnt helped.

i was recomended strip washing with the detol laundry wash (havent tried it yet) or although not normaly recomended using a little bleach in the wash to kill any bacteria that might be causing the smell.

try contacting pea pods they should be able to help.

Hmmm. I don't really have any advice. I have one particular nappy that C's wee always reacts with (its a hemp nappy). I just save it for at home and as soon as he wees I change him.

Sorry I'm not much help. Its frustrating isn't it.

Contact Peapods and they should be able to tell you what to do.

id make sure they were really clean - id use a whole scoop of powder (one without fabric softener in it) on warm-hot. then rinse in warm. then id do a strip wash with dishwash detergent in warm-hot, then quite a few rinses in warm-hot til there were no bubbles. then id do a final cold rinse with a tad of bicarb and lavender or TT oil (or dettol rinse etc)....then perhaps one more rinselol!

Are the inserts hemp??? It may be his urine reacting with the hemp and smelling rather than the nappy. Simon is attrocious for it. Its a really sour smell - yuck.

No, they're bamboo. I put them through on rinse with some vinegar yesterday and she'll be wearing them today *fingers crossed* that that's fixed the problem, otherwise I'll be doing what Joh suggested and washing them all day
