    Default Slimy bamboo...

x-post from elsewhere, but I wanted some more opinions/help.

Some of my bamboo inserts have gone slimy. When I just took them out of the machine, and was hanging them I realised that they are slimy. Ack. So gross. They are also an off white colour where the slimy spots are.

Any ideas what this could be? I have put them on to wash again, 60degree hot wash (normally do about 40 degrees), with some diluted bleach in there. I took all the covers and pockets out though, so it's just trifolds in there.

    Ick. Ack. Blergh.

Hmm, build-up of some sort? I'd probably do a strip wash ... (hot water, a little dishwashing detergent)

I would say they are on their way to falling apart.

My nappies started by going a little crunchy and brown and then they came out of the wash slimy and basically fell apart.

Make sure you wash each day OR make sure you thoroughly rinse night nappies if it is going to more then a day.

I have lost heaps of nappies to the dreaded bamboo disintegration....despite washing each day we still have bamboo falling apart so are using hemp instead with no falling apart problems, just the hemp smell issues I have .

I've never had a problem before! These are newish inserts too... about 6months old. I've got others much older than that with no problems. Do you think it couldn't been that heatwave? I've always washed every 2-3 days normally, and use Plantet Ark powder.

Well, I have been using more lately for some reason, lol. Maybe it's build up from too much of that.

*scratches head* That's weird. Is it really a buildup, or could it be an odd mould or fungus?

Spots makes me think it's a growth rather then a buildup. If it was the fiber disintegrating you'd think it'd be far more uniform over the booster.. Show me tomorrow IRL - I wanna see
