    Default Lanolising

Once you lanolise and squeeze the cover in a towel to remove excess water do you put them through the wash or just put them out to dry?

How long should I soak a cover to lanolise it?

Nope just let air dry...usually best to lay flat on a towel or something.

    I normally soak mine overnight

I put towel under, towel over and roll to remove the excess water. Then lay them flat on a dry towel to dry.

Did you manage to score some wool covers? I just soak mine overnight too - anything over about 1/2 hour is fine. Just use a pea size blob of lanolin

I dont soak mine, I just push them through the water inside out and the right way and then roll them in a towel and then leave them to dry.

If the cover if soiled give it a little hand wash first in some wool wash.

EDIT. Also, Lanolin doesnt make woolies water proof. Rather the lanolin in the wool means that you dont need to wash them after every wear as its self cleansing.

I soak mine for about 1/2 an hour. I then lie them flat on a clothes horse to dry.

are we talking knitted wool covers? or bbh type wool covers?

TBH I have never lanolised anything in my house. Never needed too. I just wash it when it smells and so far that's only been once and quite recently.

Knitted...I think? I've never had any other kind so can't comment on them.
