    Default Sullivans elastic

    Hi all,
I'm replacing the elastic in some of my ittis, and after reading various threads here and how many recommend using Sullivans elastic, I went and bought some to use.

I bought the 6mm polyester elastic. Are there different types? This was the only one I could find. I'm finding that it's not as "elasticy" as the other cheaper type I had (but which didn't last many washes).

Is this actually the case or just my imagination? Thanks.

Probably your imagination - if you bought 6mm sullivans then you should be right

Well, I'm hoping this will last me longer. At least I don't have any leg gaps anymore!

I have a 6mm Sullivans one here which is actually 'non roll' elastic as compared to the cheaper 6mm woven elastic. I'd say what you have is the non roll which is slightly heavier and yes seems to have less stretch. I have half a roll of it left over from my craft/fabric shop I owned (before kids). I use it now in nappies & covers although it's black so I can only use it in dark coloured things.
I reckon it should last longer than the other.

Sandi, so just to clarify, I have the non-roll elastic? If so, what is the type I need to get that is stretchier? I just took a look at Bubba Earth - am I after the "swimwear elastic"? Thanks!
