Default Replacing zigzagged elastic in overlocked nappies

    As per the title.

I know there's a sticky about replacing elastic in overlocked nappies, but the tutorial was for elastic sewn at the ends, not zigzag stitched.

The nappies in question are a BBB and a CTBD.

I haven't done it, but this is how I'd probably do it:

    1. snip a small hole at either end of the elastic (this won't look perfect when done but they're knit fabrics so won't fray).
    2. unpick as much of the zigzag stitch as you can, either from the outside or poking through the holes.
    3. pull or cut out as much of the elastic as you can.
    4. thread a new piece of elastic through the holes and zigzag stitch in place.
    5. trim the ends and hand-stitch the holes closed.

I have an overlocker so I just cut off the overlocking, resew the elastic and overlock it back up

When I replaced the elastic in 12 of my old, old BBH, I snipped a bit either end, then just sewed some elastic in at each end. You can't really tell, and it was easier to get the elastic right than trying to blind zigzag it in with the overlocking stitches still in (this was before I had an overlocker).

I considered this but you can actually overlock neatly, vicki, I can't overlocking is an inside of the nappy thing for me until if/when I improve!

Hmmm...I have access to an overlocker, so would Vicki's method be the best?
