Default Question about elastic in BumG's v.2 vs v.3

I see that many people have already mentioned that the elastic in their BumGenius nappies has gone. I've had this problem too however all my BumG nappies were the Ver.2's. Just wondering if people have had the same problem with the Ver.3 BumG's, or if the manufacturer might have actually started using a better quality elastic?

I love the fit and ease of use of the BumG's and have thought about buying some new ones, but I'm put off by the problems I've had with the elastic!

    Thanks for any advice!

I've had the same problem with both. I got all my BG V2.0 replaced and within 3 mths the elastic was going in the replaced V3.0 (but mine was due to my son's toxic wee!) and I am STILL waiting on a response from the retailer about replacement as the 2nd batch failed while still under the original warranty period. (that reminds me to contact them, its been months)

I bought two V3s as I liked the new colours. I've only used them a handful of times each, and the elastic is already becoming slack. Also, the colour of the nappy is fading, and I have colour transferring on to the laundry tabs/velcro. (Dried inside on a rack, not out in the sun).

Really? I've never had problems with the colour, but then I only have green

Surely nappies should be manufactured to cope with ANY wee!!
Well I'm certainly not convinced about buying any more BumG's by the sound of it!
Any tips on other similar style one size pocket nappies? I've tried a Haute but not too keen on the actual pocket opening. The wet insert always seems to end up touching bubs bottom. Though the fit is good.

I too have had problems with the elastic in my V2 Bum Genius going, must get around to replacing it... Not to mention problems with the velcro tabs too.

Any tips on other similar style one size pocket nappies?
Not really a similar style, but for a great one size pocket I don't think you can go past a Green Kids. I've a couple when DS was born and 3 years later they are still going strong on DD.

I've got V3 and haven't had any probs yet (touch wood). We've only been going full time for almost 3 months and I have 18 nappies, so they're washed pretty regularly.
I have noticed on some of the darker coloured nappies the colour is transferring onto the velcro tabs

I also have some totbots AIO. They are pretty similar to the pocket as the booster folds out for easy drying. They're a little narrower in the crotch than the BG, but otherwise a very similar fit.

    Sorry, they're the totbots Easyfit

I bought them cos I liked the funky patterns, and they're my favourite nappies for fit and function!

Thanks Swishy, the Easyfits do sound good. Do you have the bamboo or microfibre lined ones? (I thought you weren't meant to have microfibre in contact with skin? Or is this more like suedecloth?)

3 years use is pretty impressive for a nappy made with PUL! (The PUL has also degraded on my BumG's after 18 mths use.) Ladybird, could you tell me what the main differences with the style of the Green Kids are (apart from the velcro tabs of course!)?
