I have 2 knitted wool soakers and 2 wool bbh covers and I was wondering if it's ok to put them through a wool wash with proper wool washing liquid and then lanolise them?
Also Logan's pooh is starting to leave stains on his terry flats, I have started using fleece liners and there isn't much sun lately to get rid of the stains and the nappies look kind of gross after a proper wash with pooh coloured stains on them.
I rinse the nappies then I put them through a 60 cycle with extra rinse and a little bit of ecostore wash powder.
Re: Washing wool soaker/covers and stains on flats
I know you can definitely wash the BBH wool covers in the machine. I just wash all my handknitted woolies by hand, just because I really don't want them to felt.
Can you just soak the terries in some nappisan? or I thought someone said there was an ecostore version of a nappisan type product?

alright I will soak todays load that's drying lol. should i just put my terries straight into a bucket of water to soak or keep dry pailing from now on?
Re: Washing wool soaker/covers and stains on flats
The uv rays will still take the stains out of the nappies even if it's not sunny. The stains may still be there, but much lighter, and the next time they're washed the stains are usually gone. If you're not in a hurry for them, I usually hang them outside in the morning, and bring them inside late in the day and finish them off on an airer inside overnight, or in the dryer. Of course, if it's raining, you'll need them undercover. Mine go ok sitting in a window.
Napisan (or the Ecostore soaker if you want to use that instead) is always an option if you want to soak them. Just put water and napisan in the nappy bucket and put the nappies in there during the day. Next morning, just upend the bucket into the washing machine and wash as normal. You shouldn't need any washing powder as the napisan works in its place.

Re: Washing wool soaker/covers and stains on flats
I never botherd soaking them, they would only get stained again on the next use.
Also, you could perhaps try a different brand of washing powder that had more nasties if you were concerned. I had a nice talk with a chemist that worked for a laundry company and she said that the nasties are what makes them wash more effectivly than eco powders.
I use eco powders when things arent that soiled or nappies cause it doesnt matter. If I have whites etc that need a good wash I use nasty powder *blush*
