Default Reasonable life for fitteds Elastic

I have some 4 month old fitted nappies in which the elastic has stretched all the way out, otherwise they look brand new as they have been used in a fairly large stash. They have been washed in the exact same way as all the other nappies (ie as per washing instructions). I'm a bit disappointed as a bulk pack was a big investment for me at the time and now at least 4 of the 6 I bought need replacing/fixing. I've contacted the seller (still waiting for a response) but I just want to make sure I am not being unreasonable in my expectations.

I was wondering what people see as a reasonable length of life for elastic in a fitted nappy?

Much longer than that! I'd contact the maker. I would expect at least till TT, or if sized for a few kids.

4 months is not aacceptable for any nappy.

It can also depend on the washing. Each seller sends their washing instructions, and some are very different to others. As long as you followed THEIR instructions then it should have lasted longer than that

i have some fitteds that are nearly 2 years old and still going strong
so i would think 4 months is not acceptable if you are following their instructions

4 months is definitely not long enough, especially since 4/6 have gone. Something must have seriously gone wrong.

Definitely waiting to hear from the maker/seller. I just wanted to make sure that wanting it fixed somehow wasn't being unreasonable. I'm not a great sewer even though I have an overlocker I'm sure I'd botch it up if I tried to fix them. Thanks for the advice girls

No, she has never had one of these stages, she drinks alot during the day so it is always pretty dilute. I've never had problems with nappies disintegrating. None of the other nappies in rotation have had a problem with the elastic either atm. It seems to be isolated to just these nappies. There is one still good and one with 1/2 the elastic gone but at least 3 are totally stretched out. Sigh, these were really for the next baby and she was just using them rarely to keep them in good nick.
