i thought the water went to 2 different places - grey water ( from the laundry etc) ends up in the stormwater system, and the toilet stuff goes to the sewerage works, and the waste is treated......

so I was thinking that when my little one arrives, i will scrape the poo into the loo, and if stubborn, I will rinse in the laudry , into a "special poo bucket" and then pour that pooey water into the loo as well, to keep the sewerage out of the waterways...... well that was my plan at least - who knows how it will work in reality!

love spiral and sprout

Simple and clever, Spiral - thanks That's what I'll do too. I'm sure you're right about the water from the laundry, kitchen and bathroom sinks going into the stormwater system (like you'd rinse poo in the kitchen sink anyway ... ) and not the sewerage system.

Thanks again

spiralgirl, that's exactly what I do! I get off what I can into the loo then put in a special bucket (just a 79c bucket from bunnings) add water then get my hands dirty (ewwww) rinsing it out. Tip the water in the loo after squeezing the water out of the nappy, then the nappy gets drypailed till washing day.

Edited to add Jordan has horrible sticky poos even at 21.5mo! Mostly the consistency of soggy weetbix!

I asked daycare how they were going with the pocket nappies the other day, they said fine, but they all hate having to change his poos!
