Default Water, water everyhwere

As if my luck with washing machines this year could not get any worse now my front loader is leaking water out of the front, I think the seal has a tear in it.
Short of buying a new machine does anyone have any recommendations on how to stop it, a temporary measure or something, I have a mountain of washing that needs to be done and I haven't got the time or the patience to stand there mopping up water all day.

Since I don't have a front loader, I have no clue what the seal would look like, but could you repair the tear with something? Silicone? Or the rubber glue that comes in tyre repair kits?

i repaired mine temporarily with heavy duty tape (super adhesive industrial type stuff with material fibres in it). it depends on how big the tear is though. also- there may be more than one so have a good look. then i waited for the repairman to come and put a new seal in for me (which took quite a while as i have a bosch and nobody repairs those in the sticks! ) this is a common part to wear on a front loader.

mmm depends on where the seal is... but that silver racing car style tape could work that's tought stuff... just have a good think when you put it on that it can't come loose and cause more probs iykwim.
Good luck - it's a snot when your waching machine isn't healthy...

Another reason why I'm glad I don't live in the sticks!
