Hi,
I was wondering what temperature is considered 'hot' when doing a strip wash? I put very hot water when trying it last time and I think it wrecked one of my bamboo nappies. It seems really flat and weird now. The rest were fine (though not the same type of bamboo I think). Anyways I want to do a strip wash again and don't want to wreck any nappies so I thought I'd ask what temp the water should be at? Also can you put dettol in the wash or will it wreck the nappies? My daughter has had a rash and I want to clean the nappies and get rid of soap etc as much as possible. Thankyou. |

I can only get 50 degrees max out of our HWS and I was wondering if that is hot enough or is that causing my smelly nappy problem?

60 degrees is more than enough, it is more important to get the correct amount of detergent, washing time and PLENTY of time on the line drying!
If you wash at hotter than 60 degrees you will almost certainly wreck your elastic (they are all made from polyester these days) and any PUL you have will get damaged as well. |

I must have a deterget problem then. I realise the drying inside doesn't help but in Albany here it's pretty difficult to get some sun in winter (except today LOL)
