Default TMI Washing out vomit smell

Well the title really says it all.

When Deklan was sick a few months ago he had a towel and a bowl but most of it got on the towel. The towel has been washed many times and hung out in the sun but I can still smell the vomit. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the smell out?

hmm..that's weird. Normally washing it in a washing machine should get rid of the smell no probs Have you tried Dettol, fabric softener, or essential oil?

I have found Eco Hemp Clean great for getting smelly things nice again (wonderful to remove onion and garlic smell off chopping boards) its great as a pre stain remover also (WONDERFUL for mamma pads)
ECO HEMP CLEAN Marijuana Moisture Pty Ltd... not sure where else its stocked atm as I haven't had much of a chance to look online of late
My sister bought me a bottle of it when she went down south on her honeymoon and I have only just used it up (her wedding was in Jan) a little bit goes a long way

Or maybe wash it with some eucalyptus oil or tee tree oil in the wash with a vinegar rinse???

ETA
Oh I have found Orange Power washing machine liquid good at removing smelly wee smells (DS had a UTI)

i usually just stick a bit of vanilla essence into the load and it seems to work to absorb smells. just the normal vanilla essence you've probably got in your kitchen cupboard.

Vanilla essence I would never have thought of it. Will give it a try.

I might just buy some of that cleaner Heidi. It looks great. I love trying different Eco cleaners. This one sounds like it does so much. It would be good to have a cleaner that does a few things rather than having lots of bottles in the cupboard.

Thanks everyone. Will let you all know what works.

I would try soaking it in bicarb and essential oils like Joh said or maybe vinegar with hot water.

Bec.

Gabby is sensitive to bicarb so can't try that one.

I did have some wonderful eucalyptus wool wash but haven't been able to find it at the shops recently. It did make things smell nice

Okay so will try the vanilla essence first.
Will buy some Eco Hemp Clean.
Also want to find the eucalyptus wool wash again. Though I do use Euca in the washing machine, which has eucalyptus oil

Anyone else have anymore suggestions? Thank you to the other people who gave suggestions.
