Mum would have dearly loved to breastfeed and she was just so so so supportive of me  bec.

My sister and I were both exclusively bottlefed. We were both undersize (2kg -ish) and the Drs said that we were too weak to breastfeed so we had to be formula fed (I was born in 1969
 ). Just goes to show how things change - both my babies were also undersize (due to a bloodpressure issue I inherited from Mum  ) and I was told to exclusively breastfeed my first daughter desptie the fact I have a low supply. I decided to go against this advice for my second daughter and supplimented bf with formula as well . Outcome - both me and my sister ended up healthy individuals. My first daughter really struggled for the first 2 years with failure to thrive and various allergies and asthma. She is 6 yrs now and doing great. My dd no2 (now 7 months) is doing fantastic. Guess all's well that ends well!!!

Just goes to show that what is 'best', is all very much down to the individual situation! Interesting stuff really :-)
Oh I was breastfed for about 9 months I think (until we started biting mum said lol!) :-) Lindy

Oohh forgot to mention - mum did cloth nappies
and in the North of England with no dryer so there are no excuses lol - although I am sure the radiators helped  Bec.
