a clean house...... not a chance cos dp is working toniht 12-8am and tomorrow same so i get to get the kids up on mothers day and stop them harassing him lol. i ot my easi-yo yoghurt thingy and some wool not an exp mothers day gift lol oh and i got some choccies

I have my present already, a snap press (combined bday present, since it is tomorrow LOL!). I just want a nice day for my DD 3rd birthday which is on Mother's Day, it will not be a quiet one with my parents here for the weekend and likely my DH's family here for the day too, but that's OK, I love to be surrounded by my family!

Well I know what I'm getting...
Hannah told me this afternoon when she came home... and with a bit of help from her dad - I get breakfast in bed (cheesecake - homemade, because life's short, eat dessert first!!)
Lunch at Grandma's... (Since I will be driving down, I have requested we only stay for an hour or so maximum) and
Dinner at Hathi Indian Restaurant....
Somehow, none of it makes up for my first Mothers Day without Calen in 12 years....(he is away...*sigh*)

I want a sleep in, the dishes done, and for once pete to actually finish the job he starts =p, in reality? I got a new microwave as our old one was freaking me out, black and white photos of liam done end of last term that I had pete put away without me seeing, and yum roses chocolates =)

My family never did 'presents' for Mother's Day so I find it a bit weird still. I certainly don't expect DH to go and buy something.

However, his family likes to mark occasions with presents, so he sometimes does get a gift from a shop. Last year I got an installed water filter so that we don't have to drink rust and dirt any more (yay). Though I suspect Mother's Day was just an excuse for something DH wanted just as much as I did!

So this year, I don't expect much, but recognition of the day would be nice. Or some small gesture.

really I would love a cuddle and kiss from my two peach bums and a single garden flower from my kind hearted DS.

At his kindy they have a 'mothers day shop' where parents donate little $2 presents and then the children get to pick something for their mums. The teacher told me Houston was the most excited of all the children to pick something for me. But he was sooooo dissapointed that there wasnt a diamond! He wanted a diamond brooche for his mummy - hes such a sweet Instead he picked a 3 pack of Ferrero Roche -mmmmmmm! I was sooooo happy - they are my fave's - couldnt believe he picked them!

I do know I am getting a weekend away later in May with my Mum in Sydney which I am really looking forward to (although a bit nervous as it will be the first time away from Eliza overnight).
