Default Hi there

Hi there
My name's Kristy, i'm a SAHM to 2 boys, Ryley (5.5) and Logan (nearly 4). I'm also 14.3 weeks pregnant with #3 and have decided to try out some cloth nappies this time around.
I'm still pretty much at the overwhelmed/clueless stage, but i'm slowly getting there with the lingo and the 'whole idea' of things.
Looking forward to having a look around here and chatting with everyone

Welcome to NC! There are a great bunch of ladies here. Very generous with their knowledge and nappies. You'll really love it and it won't be long before you'll wonder why you ever used disposables!

When it comes to MCN, I just remember the number 3:
3 types - Fitted, All-in-one, Pocket
3 fabrics - cotton, hemp, bamboo
3 layers - outer, hidden, inner
3 parts - cover (PUL, wool, natural), absorber (cotton, hemp, bamboo), liner (natural, fleece, flushable)

Of course, this is a very simplified version (because there are actually a couple more options in there) but it helps keep things straight in my head!

Have fun researching and try not to spend too much! lol I have heard you can save money using cloth but haven't managed to do it myself yet. hehehe

Hi and welcome!
A word of warning, within all the above options are the 2 options of workhorse nappy or showoff nappy. Workhorse nappies will save you money and work well for everyday. Showoff nappies are your favourites that not only work well but look and feel gorgeous as well. (Gorgeous prints, lush velours and minkys etc) Unfortunately these are the ones that will make you poor as they are addictive and you just can't stop at one. The competition to win one at stocking time is also addictive.
