Default A possible cloth convert...

Hi I've just joined because I'm thinking of changing over to cloth but finding the choices exciting, confusing and overwhelming all at the same time! It has been great reading through all the old posts to try and understand what the options are...
I have a 2 1/2 year old son who is toilet trained and wore disposables for his entire career, which cost a small fortune! When he was in nappies I thought the only option were terry flats with horrible sweaty plastic pants like the ones we wore as babies
(and my mother loves!). I have now realised that the world of mcn's exists and am enjoying exploring. My 4 month old baby daughter is renown for her explosive poos which make their way out of her top of the range disposable nappy about 80% of the time! I am very over that! Hopefully will find a better system with cloth...
What a great site!
Rebecca

Welcome to NC Rebecca

Little bits of info at a time is my suggestion
It is VERY overwhelming when you first look into using MCN.
But once you own a couple and work out what suits you... the addiction takes over

Hi Rebecca & welcome to Nappycino

A good way to start out when you are investigating cloth is to find someone who has been using cloth for a while & have a look at their stash. It really does help to see & feel things in real life

Hi Rebecca - I also have a dd with the explosive poo factor...
Interested in any others who have found any specific cloth and covers which 'contain' these???

Hi rebecca welcome to NC
hope you enjoy it here
let us know what your first purchase is

my advise is to try a few differnt sorts at first to see what you like and what suits your bub. Then you can go crazy

I found that as my dd grew my preferences changed

I also sell all my out grown nappies on Buy for Baby
and have bought some there too
a good place to look when you are still working out what works for you

good luck and enjoy the addiction

Welcome Rebecca,

As a rule a good fitted and a well fitting cover are always the best deterrent to explosive poos I'm certain you'll find lots of great advice and encouragement here.
