Thanks for the welcome, and hi to the other newbies Taddy and K&R!

K&R - when DD was a new newborn my fave nappies were my tots bots, they are the old style so snappiable, and hemp fitteds with wool for nights and PUL covers for days. I struggled with flats till I realised that flannelettes only worked with velcro covers (as I couldn't pin a nappy on to save myself).

If I was doing it again I think I would buy some newborn sized bamboo fitteds (DD is a heavy wetter and sleeps for long periods and it took me a while to get my head around that). And possibly some prefolds. One of my best mates had her first bubba this morning (WOOHOO) and so I shall watch with interest how her newborn fitteds and prefolds system works.

Welcome girls. I think there is one flaw in your plan to buy one of every nappy Lisel: there are an infinite number of nappies! I started out same as you and soon discovered that just as I thought I had seen everything, I would discover something else or someone else would start making nappies that were just a bit different to the rest.

Looking forward to hearing more of your journey

The plan was only to buy a couple of fitteds, AIO's etc, to see what I liked best, which I did, but then I bought a few more, and a few more Then I decided since I loved my itti and minky, I needed a minky itti and on it goes.

I was being very restrained for a while there, until I found a nappy with a matching dress.....I told DH I had to have it as I wanted to see how the dress was made so I could make some of my own.....pity my sewing machine is broken
